Oral Hygiene Measures for the Care of Dental Implants

Poor personal and professional oral hygiene measures are clearly documented in the literature as risk factors for peri-implantitis. This concern has gained global attention and over the last decade an emphasis has been placed on oral hygiene and the importance of adequate and effective implant maintenance regimens. Patients should be comprehensively instructed on how to disrupt biofilm in all aspects of the restoration and peri-implant sulcus.
